What changes off the main tourist circuit
Road quality, phone coverage, fuel, toilets, food and medical access can be more limited. A reliable plan carries identification, starts early, uses a suitable vehicle and keeps space for official road controls or weather changes.
Day trip or overnight?
Doodhpathri, Yusmarg and Aharbal can usually work as Srinagar day excursions in season. Gurez requires a multi-day plan. Lolab and Mughal Road circuits depend on the exact route and should not be added as casual detours.
