Vehicle cover is not the same as travel insurance
A commercial vehicle should operate with legally required registration, permit and insurance documentation. This does not automatically cover every personal loss, medical event, missed connection, cancellation, weather disruption or adventure activity a traveller may experience.
What passengers can verify
- Vehicle registration shared before duty
- Commercial operating documentation as legally required
- Driver identity and licence status through the operator
- The incident and escalation process
Personal travel insurance
Travellers should consider a policy appropriate for destination, age, health, altitude, weather, trip value and planned activities. Read exclusions carefully. Trekking, skiing, pony rides, high-altitude travel or pre-existing conditions may need specific cover.
If an incident occurs
Prioritise safety and qualified emergency help. Notify authorities where required, contact the booking desk and insurer, record relevant details without putting yourself at risk, and keep bills or reports needed for a claim.
Questions to ask your insurer
Confirm whether the policy covers road closures, missed connections, medical evacuation, high-altitude travel, winter activities, trip cancellation and the full value of prepaid bookings. Keep the policy number and assistance contact available offline during the journey.
